Pre-schooling

Pre-schooling

The Valentina Association supports the access of children from disadvantaged families to state kindergartens, giving them the chance to start early education under equal conditions. Through a direct subsidy to schools, we cover the costs of daily hot meals and the necessary supplies, so that children can benefit from a stable educational environment. These preschool years are essential, allowing them to enter the primary school system without gaps and to receive the necessary preparation for educational success.

We select 60 children between the ages of 3 and 6, whom we support for two years, facilitating their enrollment in six extended-day kindergartens in the Ferentari neighborhood. This program not only helps children adapt more easily to school, but also offers parents the opportunity to work or continue their studies, thus contributing to improving the family’s standard of living. Without this financial support, many of these children would not have access to kindergarten, which would make it difficult for them to integrate into school and society later.

How does it work?

  • Kindergartens, town halls, and neighbors of families send parents to the Valentina association to submit an application.
  • The selection of children is made following a social survey conducted by our social workers according to criteria well defined by the association. Each case is studied before a definitive agreement is made for the child’s integration into our program. Parents will then sign a “school loyalty” agreement.
  • The children are followed up at school by our social workers who remain in constant contact with the educators and directors of the respective schools.
